SANDRA HORTA

Sandra Horta is an artist born in Tarrafal, Santiago, who has made her mark on the music scene.

Cape Verdean music for its unique interpretation, versatility, and stage presence, interpreting Cape Verdean themes with influences from global musical genres: mornas, batuques, coladeiras are presented in the colors of jazz, flamenco, and bossa nova without losing their African roots.


He began his artistic career in childhood, which he developed throughout his youth, particularly in Portugal where, alongside his higher studies in Computer Engineering, he joined

several student musical groups and continued studies in singing, jazz and made forays into theater,

dance and fashion, having represented Cape Verde in the International Metropolitan Top Model in Brazil.

Meanwhile, at the invitation of Tito Paris, he began to perform professionally on major stages in Portugal,

France, Angola and Cape Verde, including the Coliseums of Lisbon and Porto, the New Morning

from Paris and Casa 70 from Angola.


In recent years, and after a period dedicated to motherhood and her profession as a Computer Engineer, she released the singles “Seca”, “Talvez” and “Wake Up Now” and musical projects linked to the causes she defends (particularly children and the environment), of which the highlights are the series of mini-concerts SHINTIM – Sandra Horta Intimate Music and the concert “Cantos, enCantos & reCantos – art and education in the service of the environment” which combines music, dance and visual arts with the cause of the environment.


He recently released his first EP entitled Primavera, produced by Tito Paris, which will be part of the

his first original album.
