DONANNA

The Samba de Donanna group has its origins in the beloved neighborhood of Recreio dos Bandeirantes, in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro, a place whose name refers to playfulness, conviviality and interactivity among everyone.

Friends and musicians united by the same dream embraced a common project, rich in sound in all the diversity with which samba exemplarily represents itself, as the musical genre identity of the Brazilian nation and, consequently, of its joyful people.

Based on Samba, Bossa Nova and Brazilian Popular Music (MPB), Samba de Donanna has a vast repertoire that spans the various corners of MPB.

It is worth highlighting the influences of Clara Nunes, Tim Maia, Moraes Moreira, Vinícius de Moraes, Wilson Simonal, Jorge Ben Jor, Natiruts, Cazuza and Seu Jorge among others.

All of this forms the creative basis of the swing of the original compositions and lyrics of Samba de Donanna.

The band is composed of a percussion set, drums, brass, bass, keyboard, and cavaquinho and the duo Elaine Sousa, with her beautiful voice and interpretive performance, and Maurício Miranda, as voice and exemplary guitar player.

Donanna's Samba is here to stay and bring audiences sounds that reveal the outstanding professionalism of each of the musicians and the contagious joy of the group in an electrifying potential for direct and spontaneous communication with everyone who participates in their shows.
