PHILIP HAMILTON
Philip Hamilton is best known to jazz audiences for his vocal work with several jazz fusion groups, including Spyro Gyra, Donald Fagan, Gilberto Gil, Steps Ahead, Pat Metheny Group, Special EFX, and, most notably, Full Circle, a Boston jazz group he co-founded and which recorded for Sony Records.
The Washington Post described the New England-raised New Yorker as "an extraordinarily energetic and inventive vocalist." His unique musical style, which blends jazz, rock, swing, and world music, evokes other vocal explorers such as Nat King Cole, Nina Simone, Stevie Wonder, and Al Jarreau.
